The Spacia, Stratica and Amtico range of products fall into the soft floor finishes BRE category, and now correspond to ratings listed on the BRE Global Green Guide, on-line generic specification.
The online guide provides designers and specifiers with clear advice on how to make the best environmental choices when selecting products.
BREEAM (BRE Environmental Assessment Method) is the leading and most widely used environmental assessment method for buildings. It sets the standard for best practice in sustainable design and has become the de facto measure used to describe a building's environmental performance. The Green Guide to Specification gives a route to obtaining credits within BREEAM for materials used within a building and contains more than 1500 specifications used in various types of buildings (www.thegreenguide.org.uk).
Each specification was assessed in terms of the environmental impact of its component products across a 60 year life cycle, within comparable building elements.
Spacia and Amtico products correspond to the BRE Global Green Guide online generic specification for Printed Laminate polyvinyl chloride floor coverings , which has achieved a summary rating of A+ when used within health, retail and educational building types and an A rating when used within commercial building types. Stratica products correspond to the Synthetic Thermoplastic specification, which has also achieved the same ratings .
