Our environmental policy
Amtico International recognises its responsibility for protecting and preserving the environment. In working towards a world where environmental risk is controlled within acceptable levels for our children and future generations, Amtico International will foster social equity and conduct its activities under the following guiding principles:
• Identify, assess and thereby control the environmental impact of any activity carried out by us and ensure that we comply with applicable legal requirements
• Develop the use of both existing and new raw materials in order to reduce the environmental impact of our manufacturing process and of our products, both during and at the end of their useful life
• Take advantage of advances in technology and design in order to achieve:
- effective use of materials
- increased use of recyclable materials
- increased plant efficiency
- improved process control
- a healthier working environment
- more efficient use of energy and resources
- sustainable development
• Prevent pollution at source, maintain and further develop procedures to help prevent and deal with process emergencies
• Investigate means to minimise waste, make maximum use of recycling and reprocessing opportunities and take care that unusable waste materials are disposed of in an environmentally responsible manner
• Develop meaningful performance indicators to measure energy consumption and waste disposal/recycling
• Promote awareness of environmental matters among our stakeholders by providing:
- relevant information regarding the environmental performance of our company
- specific training and information to our employees with regard the environmental aspects and impacts of our operations
- information to our customers on the recommended installation, use maintenance and disposal of the company's products
