Most of us have at least one room in our home which we would love to be either lighter, brighter or appear larger.
Our design team recommend keeping your colours light. But how practical are pale colours for bedrooms and ensuite bathrooms? And how can you prevent the room interior looking too bland?
Amtico’s designers advise:
To evoke a light and airy space, choose a pale wallcovering or paint color. Paints with a ‘Soft Sheen’ finish are great - they’re wipeable and easier to keep clean than matte surfaces, plus the subtle sheen reflects light which is key.
Flexible lighting is important. Pendants and wall lights can be combined to create the look you want, and don’t forget the basics like individual bedside lamps that are within easy reach.
As for the floor - again, the secret is to keep it pale. This is where most people worry about practicality, but with Amtico keeping your floor clean isn’t a problem. In bedrooms we love the look of Antique Porcelain or Golden Oak.
The key to creating a light & airy look which isn’t bland is to add colour in your accessories. Add touches of a contrast colour with cushions and throws.
